April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began with guitar and piano in the 7th grade, which ignited her interest. When she was in seventh grade April started taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time to writing song ideas and practicing her musical skills. In the following months, April started going to NY and LA with her Dad to help them write songs. April included other subjects in her song"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt issues like peer pressure, disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle influencer with her own growing following. Lockhart was born with no left hand, and it's an aspect of her identity, but that's not the entire story. As a result Lockhart's Instagram account does not shy away from her disability, but it's not focused on the issue as well. The message? There is more to us than just our physical self. The identities we have are complex and we contain many different elements. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability will define me. My goal is not to influence disabilities because I've got plenty to offer." It doesn't impact my everyday routine. I still do all my normal activities and have adapted to my disabilities. However, it's a component of me, so I believe it's essential to discuss. Lockhart, a real source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting and is currently on a lengthy road to reach it. Lockhart admits to having been through phases in her life in her body, and felt uneasy in some instances to wear clothes that showed her arms. She is able to wear anything she likes, and is proud to share photos of herself wearing these clothes. It's all a process is what I'm not certain that you ever arrive she says about self-love. But I think that's with everyone with whatever they are struggling with. The people around you with that truly understand you and see inside your soul are the best people who can remind you of the things you're concerned about.
